Skip has enjoyed music since childhood, and credits his two loving parents, Warren and Betty, for getting his start. He began piano lessons at the age of six, and by the age of ten was performing recitals. In high schools he performed in both concert and stage bands, and was also a member of the concert choir.

For a time, music took a back seat while he pursued other interests, among them becoming a licensed pilot. One lazy day on the river his cousin Joe turned him on to the music of Jimmy Buffett….and his musical energy was rekindled.

After a three year stint doing sound for the Buffett tribute band Phins, he moved to the role of bassist for them when their original bassist Charles "Tuna" Donnell stepped down in order to move to South Carolina.

After two years with Phins, he decided to rekindle an old dream….and Banana Wind was born. "It's so much fun playing the music that I love with my friends - and for our friends, both old and new!"
